At Least Three Killed in New Taipei Crash #taiwan #newtaipeicity #pedestrianaccident

Three people — two schoolchildren and a 40-year-old woman — were killed, and twelve others injured when a car plowed into a busy New Taipei intersection near a school on Monday. The 78-year-old driver, who is critically injured, showed no signs of having consumed alcohol, but was previously involved in a 2020 incident in which he hit a pedestrian. Police are treating the case as a suspected negligent homicide and plan to order a psychological evaluation as the investigation continues.
