Linux Fedora / Ubuntu Easy ways how to setup Faugus Launcher to run Windows apps and games (Easier than Bottles)

:INSTALL APP VIA FLATPAK METHOD:

Enter the app store
Install Faugus Launcher
(Flatpaks are not enabled in Ubuntu btw)

Enter Flatseal
Find Faugus Launcher
Make sure GPU perms are enabled (If flatpaks still don't use your GPU, make sure Freedesktop Platform app has the Nvidia addon.
Or Nvidia driver are enrolled mok for Secure Boot in the fedora app store)

:SETTING UP FAUGUS:

Enter Faugus Launcher
[Settings]
Enable GameMode
Enable Prevent Sleep (If you’re using a controller,
and the game registers it but still dims the screen after awhile, this fixes it)

–HOW TO UNINSTALL INSTALLED DIRECTX–

(Btw, VCREDIST installers have uninstall but DIRECTX
or installed via Winetricks don’t have it)
Right click your created game user
Select Path
Select drive_c/windows/system32
Run Uninstaller EXE or Appwiz CPL

:EXTRAS:

–IF YOUR APP/GAME HAS VISUAL BUGS OR WON’T RUN–

Open your created user
[Tools / WineCFG / Graphics]
Enable Virtual Desktop
Type your display resolution
(Just use the Windows key to leave Wine Desktop)

—IF YOUR CPU/GPU DOESN’T SUPPORT VULCAN–

[Open created user / Tools]

–HOW TO SEARCH AND SELECT MULTIPLE ERROR LOGS–
(If you’re having other problems with an app in Faugus)

[Settings]
Enable Logging (After opening your game, it’ll generate the logs)
[Right click on the user / Logs]
Open file Location
Enter Terminal
(Text editors can't select searched lines, so we’re gonna use a search tool)
“grep” Run grep command app
“-i”
To ignore lowercase
"”warn”” Put the thing you’re searching for in quotes. (Important errors are labelled warn)
Drag the proton logs text file into the Terminal
(Also, It has to be in quotes to not be mistaken as a command.
But most desktop environments already put the quotes)
(Now you can look and select at all the errors your app has so you know what to fix)

–HOW TO FIX LOW VM MAX MAP COUNT ERROR IN LOGS–

Enter Terminal
“sudo YOURTEXTEDITOR” Run your editor as Super User (Find your text editor’s package name by either using the TAB autocomplete
. Or opening the text editor and check its name in the System Monitor app)
“/etc/sysctl.d/99-anythingidk.conf” Makes/edit the config file in that folder
“vm.max_map_count=2147483642“ Type it in the text editor
Save
Reboot
“cat /proc/sys/vm/max_map_count” You can check what the map count file says

Copy and paste all override perms commands
Or do it via Flatseal
Find Faugus Launcher
Add ~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/ perms in Other Files
Add org.freedesktop.Flatpak perms in Talks
Then do the things it said to your flatpak Steam too

Enter Terminal

Debian-based distributions
PPA (Ubuntu, Mint, KDE Neon...)
“sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386” Run DPKG command app as Super User and add 32bit support
“sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:faugus/faugus-launcher” Runs AAPTR and adds the link to Faugus to get auto updates.
“sudo apt update” Refreshes the package list
“sudo apt install -y faugus-launcher” manually Installs the Faugus app. The -y just auto confirms the command

Fedora / Nobara (Copr)
"sudo dnf -y copr enable faugus/faugus-launcher" Run dnf command app as Super User and auto confirm and use the copyr command option to link Faugus' repo
"sudo dnf -y install faugus-launcher" Run dnf command app as Super User and auto confirm then use the install option to install app via Terminal
