The 9 Men Who Blocked Hitler’s Atomic Bomb 🤯 #shorts📝

This is easily the greatest sabotage mission in military history.

In 1943, Nazi Germany was using the heavily guarded, "impregnable" Vemork hydroelectric plant in Norway to produce heavy water—a key ingredient needed for their atomic bomb program. Realizing a standard military assault would fail, the Allies sent in Operation Gunnerside: a team of just nine elite Norwegian commandos.

Instead of attacking the heavily armed bridge, they descended into a freezing, 600-foot ravine in the dead of winter, crossed a rushing river, and scaled a near-vertical wall of solid ice. They silently slipped into the plant through a cable tunnel, laid their explosives, and blew the heavy water facility sky-high. The best part? They escaped without firing a single shot, skiing over 200 miles across freezing mountains to safety in Sweden.
