Vitamin D on the Keto Diet

On keto, we often talk about the nutritional density of foods.

This means that on a gram, or tablespoon portion, you get the maximum benefit.

Cod liver is an example of nutrient-dense food. It contains protein, fat, vitamin A, iron, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin D.

If you have a cod liver with oil, then a 200-gram can is about 5000 IU of vitamin D.

This is a good daily dose to replenish vitamin D deficiency. However, liver is so nutrient-dense that you don't need to eat it every day. It also contains a lot of vitamin A, an excess of which can be dangerous.

But replacing vitamin D drops/pills with a delicious breakfast of cod liver once a week is a good idea.

The recipe for pancakes that are great for dipping in oil is below in the feed.
