Automatic Object Sorting System Based on Height with Counter Up Using TIA Portal & Factory IO

This project presents the design and implementation of an automated sorting system for objects with varying heights using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The system utilizes a conveyor belt equipped with two infrared sensors positioned at different heights to detect whether an object is tall or short. Based on the sensor input, the PLC controls actuators to redirect the object to the appropriate path for further processing or packaging.

The purpose of this system is to demonstrate a simple yet effective application of industrial automation, where sorting by physical attributes is crucial in production lines. The logic is built using ladder diagram programming, and the project also includes two counter up for monitoring.

This project simulates real industrial conditions where object spacing and sensor accuracy are critical. Challenges such as the timing between objects and actuator response are addressed using delay mechanisms, memory latching, and timers within the PLC.
