What is Myeongrang Hotdog?

Korean hot dogs, sometimes referred to as Korean rice dogs or Korean corn dogs are hot dogs rolled in a rice flour batter and deep fried. They are then finished with sugar. The hot dogs come in several variations, including ones that contain only cheese and no actual hot dog.
Myungrang’s batter appears to have a higher ratio of rice flour because the texture of the coating is chewier, like mochi
Myungrang also rolls the finished dogs in sugar rather than just dusting them with sugar, resulting in a lot more sugar sticking on the hot dogs. However, you can request for light sugar or no sugar at all.
If you watch the mukbang (livestreams of people eating) that popularized Myungrang Hot Dog in the Korean street food scene, you might first notice the zigzags of ketchup and mustard drizzled over the corn dog. Or the layer of sugar that shimmers like a coat of fresh snow.
Then as the vloggers bite into the dogs, you’ll hear the crunch of the fried panko-covered batter, which is sometimes covered with potato cubes.
If there’s mozzarella inside, look out for the coveted cheese pull and experience the strange joy of watching someone carefully stretch out hot cheese with their teeth as long as they can without breaking it.

Steps how to make Myeongrang Hotdog

1. Mix 1/2 of mineral water and 1/2 of boiled water.
2. Add 2 spoons of sugar and melt it well.
3. Put 2 tsp of yeast, mix well and wait for 5 minutes.
5. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and mix well.
6. Add 1 cup and 3/4 of flour.
7. Stir well (until soft) and ferment for 1 hour.
8. Cut potatoes and soak them in water. Wash with water 2times (to remove starch).
10. Remove the excess water with a kitchen towel.
11. Add 1 tbsp. of flour and mix.
12. Wash 2 hot dogs with water and remove the wet with a kitchen towel.
13. Cut the cheese into hot dog-sized
14. stick the (wooden)chopstick in sausage and cheese
15. Boil 1 liter of cooking oil (170 degrees)
17. Coat the hotdog and cheese with powder dough-
18. Stick the potatoes.
19. Apply breadcrumbs.
20. Fry.
21. Sprinkle sugar, ketchup, and mustard according to your taste.
22. Mukbang!!

Ingredients - (Good for 4persons)

1 Flour 1cup and 3/4
2. Yeast (2 tsp)
3. Salt(1/2 tsp)
4. Sugar(2tbsp)
5. Oil (1L)
5. Mozzarella Cheese
6. Sausage (2)
7. Potato (5)
8. Bread crumbs
9. Stick
10.half cup of mineral water and boiled water
