The Zayan tribes, centered around the city of Khenifra, primarily speak the Zayan dialect, which is most prevalent in their capital. This dialect is part of the broader Atlasian Amazigh dialects, which constitute the standard Amazigh language. This standard language aims to revive ancient Amazigh dialects predating the emergence of specific dialects like Zayaniya. Zayaniya, currently an Atlasian dialect, is understood by residents of North Atlas, influenced by the Riffian dialect, and South Atlas, influenced by the Soussian dialect, as it lies in the middle of the Middle Atlas, serving as a linguistic bridge between them.
