Slim Shade Upgrading RV Door Window

#slimshade #camperwindows #approducts We've had a couple of issues with the camper door window. We didn't like the textured glass that prevented us for looking out. We also had to place bubble wrap over the glass when the RV door faced the sun. We used magnetic tape to hold the bubble glass in place, but over a short period of time, the glue would release.

The main reason for replacing the window was the outside plastic trim cracked at the bottom and was letting water seep in during heavy rain. And worse, the foam glue used inside the trim had deteriorated and the glass had dropped out of place creating a 1 inch open space at the top of the window. Bottom line, it was time to replace the window.

We looked at options to replace the trim and use the glass, but had difficulty finding a replacement. Replacing the window with a similar product cost around $66 and we still had the bubble wrap covering we didn't care for.

After some research, we found the Slim Shade by AP Products for under $95. This is a rather simple set up with a tinted window and a slot on the inside frame to install the supplied window shade. Installation was relatively simple, taking less than 45 minutes, only requiring a simple phillips head screwdriver to install.

Results were better than expected and we really like the glass tint along with the simple shade to block direct sunlight.
