Just as a flagship model should, the S-Class comes standard with impressive features such as heated 16-way power front seats with memory, multicolor/multizone LED ambient lighting, remote start via Mercedes me app, Air Balance cabin fragrance and air purification system, electronic trunk closer, and an 115-volt power outlet. Optional features consist of ventilated front seats with active multicontour and massage (available for the rear seats as well), dual power rear seats with folding tables, design exclusive Nappa leather upholstery, heated and cooled rear cup holders, refrigerator box for rear cabin, and heated armrests, steering wheel, and windshield. Magic Body Control continually scans the road surface for variations, it then prepares the suspension to take action before the wheels reach them.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is not only known for its ultimate luxury but also for advanced standard safety features that include Collision Prevention Plus, a system that alerts the driver of a potential collision, assists the driver by providing the ideal level of braking depending on the conditions, and can provide autonomous braking at speeds up to 65 mph. The Crosswind Assist system uses strategic braking of the wheels on one side on the car in order to keep the S-Class stable while encountering lateral wind at highway speeds. Pre-Safe tightens the front seatbelts, adjusts the front passenger seat, and closes all windows and the sunroof if the system detects a possible collision or rollover.

Optional safety features include Night View Assist Plus that uses infrared beams and special cameras that can display a clearer, supplemental real-time view of the road ahead in the digital instrument cluster when driving on a dark roadway. The innovative BAS Plus with Cross-Traffic Assist scans the road ahead at speeds of up to 45 mph and uses cameras to detect and apply the brakes to avoid a collision with vehicles approaching from either side of an upcoming intersection, or with pedestrians in the car's path. Nine airbags, rearview camera, Electronic Stability Program, tire pressure monitoring system, and rain-sensing windshield wipers are just some of the additional standard features in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Neither the NHTSA nor the IIHS have crashed tested the S-Class.
