We must stop making the neurodivergent adapt to the “normal” classroom and education system. Normal is statistical illusion that is harming almost 15% of the student population. Using distance learning techniques developed during the COVID-19 crisis, as well as Universal Design Learning principles, I believe it is possible to give all learners a safe space where they can learn in their own time, in their own way. Online, Jennifer openly shares her experiences of what it is like to be an Autistic BIPOC, and how her late diagnosis helped her to truly understand herself. She spends her free time teaching yoga, furthering her martial arts studies, playing drums and singing in various bands, and acting as a fierce neurodiversity advocate.
