The Most Modern Epiphone EVER? | Futura RD Custom

Epiphone’s new Futura range takes classic Gibson-inspired designs and pushes them into seriously modern territory, and the Futura RD Custom in Twilight Shift might be the boldest of them all.

With its aggressive RD body shape, colour-shifting Chromashift finish, stainless steel frets, and modern performance-focused features, this guitar feels like a futuristic reimagining of a cult classic.

The Twilight Shift finish changes colour depending on the light, shifting between deep metallic blues and purples for one of the most eye-catching looks Epiphone has ever produced.

Under the hood, the Futura RD Custom packs Epiphone ProBucker Ignite humbuckers with push/pull coil split and phase switching. It is the expected 25.5” scale length for this type of guitar and features a compound-radius ebony fretboard loaded with stainless steel frets. They haven't missed a beat on the hardware choices either by including locking Grover Rotomatic tuners, Graph Tech nut and LockTone hardware

The longer scale length makes this guitar especially suited for heavier styles and lower tunings, while the modern neck profile and stainless frets make it feel fast and incredibly playable.
