Bob's Cove - Charleston Lake - 2016

Ava, Copper and I camped at Bob’s Cove, Charleston Lake, for three days in August 2016. We paddled in from the Provincial Park in my new Souris River, Quetico 17. The weather was fabulous. We fished, swam and jumped from the cliffs. Unfortunately, we couldn’t have a campfire due to the very dry summer conditions. We saw lots of wildlife including a Black Rat snake and a Big Bass that lived near our cliffs. Ava wanted use my old 6-man tent which did not fit on the tent pad. She is more comfortable in the huge tent than squeezed into the 2-man tent with Copper and myself. Being just 20 minutes from the 401, Charleston Lake can be a busy spot. However, we enjoyed the company of the many boats that came to Bob’s Cove to jump from the cliffs.
