Rory Gilmore, portrayed by the brilliant Alexis Bledel, of the television show Gilmore Girls was an all-time favorite. Until she wasn’t. Throughout the series, we watch an intelligent, determined, ambitious young woman fall apart because of boys and drama. We never see her live up to her potential. At the end of the original series, we see her run off to become a political journalist, and we think that maybe she’s on the path to success. Then A Year in the Life, the Gilmore Girls’ revival, came out on Netflix in 2016, much to our delight. We expected to see Rory thrive as an adult in the world of journalism, but that’s not what we got. Instead, we got drama with her ex-boyfriends, including Logan Huntzberger, several failures and no career prospects, and a pregnancy. Moreover, what we got was wasted potential and backtracking on character development. In short, we watched Rory Gilmore fall from grace. What exactly happened to our Rory Gilmore?
