I paired the Sigma 105mm Macro Lens with my Blackmagic URSA 12k camera. I’m not into shooting test charts (you’ll have to go to another review for that), but I did shoot a bunch of real world footage. It’s really nice as a telephoto lens, but I enjoyed shooting macro the most. I think the thing that impressed me was that I could keep getting closer and closer to my subject and see incredible detail in the image. I’ve used other macro lenses and when I hit their limit, I was disappointed that I couldn’t get any closer. With this lens and it’s ability to shoot 1:1 at 105 millimeters, I didn’t have that issue. Seriously, I had a lot of fun shooting with this lens. I even shot a close up of my eye, which was hard to do by myself and also a little disturbing.
