Winning Android Ad Fraud Hide and Seek with Frida - Adam Abramov, DoubleVerify

Mobile advertising drives more revenue than desktop advertising, and it's still growing. That makes sense - advertising is how most mobile devs monetize. This industry draws all kinds of entrepreneurs, including fraudsters, and the mobile operating system vendors are forced to take the role of gatekeepers. They take responsibility for components devs rely on to display ads at a scale where each issue in the ecosystem is magnified. Analyzing real world examples we'll look at how Frida, an OS dynamic instrumentation tool, can assist in Android fraud detection. This talk will bring everyone up to speed, then overview roughly 1 CVE, 1 awesome OS dynamic analysis tool, 2 new revealed detections, 2 demos, and lots of ad fraud.
