POPE LEO XIV visits SISTINE CHAPEL and UNSEALS PAPAL APARTMENT for the FIRST TIME

In a deeply symbolic moment, Pope Leo XIV visited the Sistine Chapel and personally removed the official seals from the papal apartment, closed since the death of Pope Francis on April 21. It marks the first time the newly elected Pontiff has entered his official residence. Leo XIV, the first U.S.-born pope, was elected on May 8 and also delivered his first Regina Caeli from St. Peter’s Square earlier in the day.
