Tuba Skinny, The Full 2nd Set @ Mensignac, France, July 23rd, 2019

This being one of the hottest days in France, 43 degrees Celsius, the evening grew more and more pleasant as dusk settled in. Knowing that Mensignac, a commune in the Dordogne department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, southwestern France, has a population of just about 1500 people, one has to give the organizers of the concert, the local jazz society, MNOP, in nearby Périgueux, a big Thank You for financing, arranging, spreading the world of jazz, treating the band and the audience so well. The lawn in front of the scene was set with chairs and tables, a refreshment stand on the side served chilled beer, water and snacks, and quite a crowd gathered to listen to the tunes from Tuba Skinny playing hot and jazzy, this Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019.
Mensignac was our first stop-over on "our tour", following Tuba Skinny on their European Tour. The day after, Atur, also a small village, situated on the other side of historic Périgueux, got its share of jazz, followed by Anglet and finally a three day spree in Andernos-les-Bains filled us with so much joy and music, as well as seeing new charming places, making new friends.
