SIMPLIFIED POWER LOOMS FOR VILLAGES

Here is a simplified power loom in which all complicated parts have been removed and made user friendly. Loom has been innovated and improved with simple components with the care that price should also reduce and loom should become cheaper. Accordingly main shaft (sley shaft) and bottom shaft have been replaced by straight bright bars. Gears have been removed and chain and sprockets drive have been installed. Underpick mechanism for kicking the shuttle has been simplified and original KVIC components such as thokar plate, thokar boss, thokar nose and square pipe have been altogether removed and simple eccentric on both ends of the bottom shaft presses the lever to enable wooden strip to strike and push the shuttle quickly. Video is a little bit crude prototype and hence not finely finished. But it works very nicely weaving 45 to 50 mt cloth in 12 hours. Motor is of 1/2 hp. So this is highly suitable to produce cloth in homes in villages.
