Though they knew each other through parties but the movie made their bond strong. SRK has always said that everybody treats him like a star it was only Priyanka who treated him like a co-star. She behaved normally with him and that made him feel comfortable with him. SRK even said that PeeCee brushed his hair whenever they looked messy and treated him like a normal person. Though they have appeared only in ‘Don’ franchise but they have always said that they had unique friendship. The rumors of their affair started spreading like a wild fire during the promotion of ‘Don 2’. What caught the attention of the media was King Khan’s special treatment towards Priyanka. It was said that SRK started suggesting producers to take Priyanka in their films. He even made hosts of bollywood parties to invite her and also wanted to do commercials as a pair with her. At that time Priyanka was seen several times visiting Mannat, SRK’s house. At various Awards showsPriyanka was spotted as Shahrukh’s arm candy and their bond raised many eyebrows. The veteran actor even took Priyanka with him at IPL matches and at many parties. Whenever Shahrukh was asked about their equation he always said that they were only good friends and nothing more than that. It was also reported that King of Romance made KJo invite Priyanka in his birthday party though Karan wasn’t friends with her. There were reports that after Priyanka’s arrival at the party King Khan received her with a kiss on cheek. He introduced her with all the guests and then only talked with her and because of this Gauri felt left out. This behavior of SRK made Gauri upset which led to a verbal spat between the husband and wife. After that party Priyanka was considered as a home breaker by many people from the fraternity. Initially Gauri turned a blind eye to the situation but when water went over her head she didn’t keep mum. SRK’s wife Gauri is powerful and has many powerful friends in the film fraternity. She along with her friends started to ban PeeCee in movies in which Karan Johar also supported his friend. Many of Gauri’s friends asked their husbands not to do films with Priyanka Chopra as she was home breaker. It was said that the interior designer forbade SRK to do films with her and even gave the actor an ultimatum to divorce him.
