Cache Memory 3: Associative and Set-Associative Cache Mappings
This video discusses both associative and set-associative caches. An associative cache relies on content-addressable memory (CAM), while a set-associative cache could rely either on CAM, or several parallel directly mapped caches. Examples are given that are inspired by content in the book Computer Organization and Architecture by William Stallings.
