With all these new electric and plug-in cars on the market, we've spent quite a lot of time of late talking about brand new cars.

But not everyone buys a new car - either because they choose not to, or they can't afford to. And the experience of buying a used electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid is very different to buying one direct from the showroom or automakers.

So today, Erin's here with an explanation of what it was like shopping for and buying a used car to replace her stolen, totaled Honda Accord -- and what it's been like living with a Chevrolet Volt for the past few months.
