We HIKED OUR SOLAR SYSTEM in Zurich, Switzerland!

During our second day exploring Switzerland, we planned a fun and unique hike near Zurich in Uetliberg! This isn’t just an ordinary hike though. This trail on top of Zurich is known as Planetenweg, or The Planet Trail.

Overlooking #Zurich, the planet trail is a 6km hike that is one billionth the size of our solar system! Throughout the trail, there are replicas of the sun and planets of our solar system. And, as you hike the trail, you travel at twice the speed of light! That means one meter of the hike is one million kilometers of our solar system! How cool is that?

Getting outdoors in nature was just what we needed. #Switzerland is known for its beautiful nature, Swiss Alps and gorgeous hikes, so we couldn’t pass up an adventure outdoors!

To get to #Uetliberg, Switzerland from Zurich, you can take public transport. All you need to do is purchase an Albis Day Pass for CHF 17.60 (~18 USD). Then, take the S10 from Zurich Central train station to Uetliberg. From there, you’ll start your hike on the Planetenweg, or Planet Trail, which will take you around two (2) hours. You’ll end at the Felsenegg cable car station where you’ll take the cable car down to Adliswil. From Adliswil, you can take the S4 train back to Zurich’s main train station.
