Virgin Galactic First Spaceflight from New Mexico (22 May) - Cockpit Footage.

On May 22, 2021, Virgin Galactic's VSS Unity spaceship completed the first-ever human spaceflight from Spaceport America, New Mexico, with two pilots reaching apogee at 55.45 miles (292,776 feet) above ground.

On 13 December 2018, VSS Unity reached a height of 82.7 km (51.4 miles) above the Earth in Mojave desert in California. That is just above the altitude at which US agencies award the pilots the astronaut wings.

A test flight on 11 July 2021 completed successfully. It was fully crewed with two pilots Dave Mackay and Michael Masucci and the four passengers were Richard Branson, Beth Moses, Colin Bennett and Sirisha Bandla.

Elephant Butte Reservoir is in the Centre of the video. The reservoir is the 84th largest man-made lake in the United States and the largest in New Mexico by total surface area and peak volume. It is impounded by Elephant Butte Dam.
