This video follows O' Connell through until his death in 1848. It focuses on his campaign for Repeal of the Act of Union (1801) through his use of peaceful Monster Meetings. It ultimately ends in the repeal movement splitting in in the aftermath of the Clontarf Monster meeting with some of the consequences of this including the failed Young Irelander Rebellion in the Year of Rebellion 1848.
