Komiža has a long fishing tradition which is reflected in the appearance of this small town and in the warmth of the local people. It is situated at the foot of the hill Hum (587 m) and oriented in West-Southwest direction. It is, therefore, protected from all the northerly winds and is subsequently the warmest place in Croatia in winter.

The archipelago of Komiža encompasses even the farthest Adriatic islands, rich with fish – Biševo, Palagruža, St. Andrija as well as Jabuka and Brusnik – islands of volcanic origin.

What to do?

Countless possibilities for activity can be discerned in nature with which Vis is inextricably linked. Our tourist agencies and private transporters organize full-day excursions on the island of Vis and other islands nearby.

Lovers of adventure can enjoy diving, caving, and paragliding, and there is also a growing interest in military tours.

The interior of the island is rich in wine roads, and you can also enroll in a horse-riding school, which is there for all those who want to learn to ride or just enjoy the company of these noble animals and beautiful nature.
