8 reasons you need a YouTube channel TODAY (Especially #3)
8 Reasons to Start a YouTube Channel Today
Reason 1 - Become A Producer (Not just a consumer)
We’re all getting bombarded with outside thoughts, opinions and perspectives these days. Your phone is constantly buzzing and firing off notifications in your pocket alerting you of someone else’s content, someone else’s opinion. It’s time you make yourself heard.
Share your voice, talk about your opinions on certain topics that you’re into and start a discussion. You do all this by producing your own content. You’re the boss. No one can tell you how you should make your videos, it’s up to you. So instead of being only a consumer, become a producer.
Reason 2 - Express your Creativity
Having a YouTube channel is a great way to express your creative side. Creative work is often personal, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be shared with the world. You never know who you might inspire. Always share your work, no matter what it is.
Creating a YouTube channel for that purpose is a strong enough purpose on its own.
Reason 3 - Personal Growth
This is one of my favorites. When you start a YouTube channel you might not have any idea how to do things. What things am I talking about? Pretty much all the things related to it. You’ll need to be able to wear many hats - videographer, photographer, editor, writer, project manager etc etc.
This will require you to grow in your skill sets which is always a good thing. Never stop growing, never stop learning new things. Make your brand new YouTube channel or if you have an existing one into your own personal development project.
Not only on the technical side of things but also to build discipline and habits that will become extremely valuable assets that you can employ in different areas of your life.
Reason 4 - Work with brands
One cool thing you’ll notice once you start growing is that brands will reach out to you and ask if you’re willing to work together. You have an audience they want to show their product to, they have a cool product or service that you’re interested in and boom, it’s a match.
You might think you need a large following for this but that’s not entirely true. I know channels that have gotten free products and even paid promotion opportunities with less than 5000 subs. It all depends on how targeted your channel is toward a specific niche.
Reason 5 - Introducing Your Brand
What better way to introduce your company and services than to demonstrate exactly what it is you do. You can use before and after images, customer reviews, tutorials and how tos on your channel to build a relationship with your potential customers.
For example I do this in my sketching videos and tutorials where I give tips and tricks on how to sketch cars and products for free. If someone wants to learn even more, you then have the option to buy my full 11 hour sketching course. You can check out what that looks by clicking the link in the description.
Reason 6 - Make Money
Who doesn’t like to make money? No matter what your goal is, you’ll execute on it more effectively when you have the funds to do so. With YouTube, there are several ways you can earn money - you have Google adsense, sponsorships, selling your own products or services, merchandise and more.
Reason 7 - Make an Impact
You never know who’s watching your videos and you never know how your videos may impact them. You might put out a video that is of little to no importance to you but it can mean the world to someone else watching it on the other side of the world.
You can inspire someone to take that first step, to make that first video or write that first blog post or start that online business or whatever it may be.
Reason 8 - It’s free
We truly live in an incredible time right now. Just think about it. YouTube allows you to start your own business, with zero upfront cost and with a potential to grow your business to any size you want. How crazy is that when you really think about it? All that’s required from you is your time and effort.
