Why did people think Trump died?

The president is notorious for being very online, yet he was mostly absent from the internet and public appearances over the last week.

Whether intentional or not, the White House often fanned the flames with vague social media posts. As a result, many prominent figures on the left began posting to social media with confidence that the President was very ill or perhaps not even alive.

Today, Trump spoke at a live press conference about moving Space Command headquarters to Alabama, effectively squashing the rumors.
