‘Catastrophic event’: no survivors in China plane crash

Avlaw Aviation Consulting Managing Director Ron Bartsch says something catastrophic has happened concerning the circumstances of a plane crash in China.

All 132 passengers on board the China Eastern Airlines flight are believed to be dead after the plane plunged in China's southern Guangxi hills region.

Mr Bartsch said design, manufacture and pilot fatigue can all be ruled out, pointing to the clear conditions of the domestic flight and that a mayday call was not released.

“Terrorism’s got to be one of the plausible explanations, I guess,” he told Sky News Australia.

“We really need that data to be able to find out or determine what caused this horrific incident.”
