Is this episode I share what a work day as a freelance artist looks like working from home. I have my own Freelance Art business in Las Vegas, NV. I specialize in many mediums of art which include pastels, acrylics, and digital. I am also studying graphic design right now through Udemy! This work day started with an hour of studying on Udemy course to learn more about Adobe Illustrator. Following my study, I enter into my first project of the day, creating a YouTube thumbnail. Most graphic designers may use photoshop to create their thumbnails, but I use Procreate. Procreate is an app perfect for artist and creators. It's very similar to photoshop, it has a wide selection of brushes and styles you can use to create anything you want. I show my process of creating a thumbnail using my iPad and Apple Pencil.

Working from home in general can be challenging. It takes self discipline, focus, and time management. When you're your own boss, it's easy to give your self a day of, or to slack off when you want because no one is telling you what to do. This biggest challenge for me has been time management. I often get distracted with things around the house that may need my attention. From deliveries, to laundry, and caring for our dogs. We just got a new puppy named Leia who needs attention and care. This is also helping me with my time management.

For my second project of the day, I complete a three piece acrylic canvas set. While working on this piece, another distraction occurred. My puppy was crying because she couldn't get to me, so I picked her up and walked her to her cage. In the process she left me a special surprise that I happen to step in. After dealing with the mess she left me, I was able to finish project number two!

For my third and final project, I started on a pastel portrait that is a fathers day gift. Pastels are my favorite medium to use.
