Change - You'll Always Be Part of Me (Edit)

The fourth song of my complete re-edit of Change's 1985 album Turn on Your Radio. Although the album is their weakest, and contains only one classic (Let's Go Together), it's full of good tunes. I love the album but I really think they ran out of money to finish it, and chose to repeat choruses and verses over and over to pad out the album. I've cut about 5 minutes from the entire album and it sounds so much better.

The worst offenders are Examination, You'll Always Be Part of Me, Oh What A Feeling and Mutual Attraction. Each song hammers the listener with repeats of the chorus, usually following this formula (chorus 1: 2 repetitions, chorus 2: 4 repetitions, chorus 3: 6 repetitions).

I did most of the album a couple of years ago, but I used Big Break Records' hideous brickwalled compressed mix. Don't go near it, get an earlier CD or the comprehensive Change boxset: Everything and More 1980-2019. This is my original edit: https://youtu.be/b6PpCxwM05c?si=x71qohogNg2E9OlW

Track four, they really need you to know: "I want you to know, once I love you, you'll always be part of me". I took out a minute of the chorus. Now it's tighter and closer to a sequel to the dramatic Say You Love Me Again. Dramatic because it's tight.
