Nissan's Infamous Clutch Problem | 350/370/G35/G37

I’m not going to lie, there have been countless times where I drive my Z and then get behind the wheel of another manual car, and think something’s broken because I get used to the Nissan clutch pedal. The pedal feel out of all of the RWD VQ cars are crap to say the least. Many people have attempted to tinker with this problem, yet there are only a few options that can be routed.

Option 1 (https://youtu.be/PqyiIyhZQT8) , you are removing the OEM clutch pedal spring completely from the car. This makes it so you are only feeling the hydraulic pressure from the clutch pedal, but you will notice the pedal has a bit of slack to it as there is NO spring pressure against the pedal. The feel of it is better than with the OEM spring installed, however I wouldn’t really call that a 100% solution to the problem at hand.

Option 2 (this video) , you are replacing the OEM clutch pedal spring with another spring of the same size, however it is 1/6th of the spring pressure. The new spring rate is 1kg/mm vs. the 6kg/mm. This means you are getting a spring to help assist you in the movement of the clutch pedal, however your foot is doing most of the work. You are getting a near-natural clutch feel from the pedal. I think this is the best bang for buck modification for the pedal you can do.

Option 3 (https://youtu.be/AxaRsJ7VqzU); you are replacing the entire clutch pedal assembly with a fully adjustable one from RJM Performance. The stock clutch pedal mechanism is like a mouse trap, it goes from 0 to 100 with not much feel in between. The RJM pedal is a completely different design where it is makes the pedal feel COMPLETELY linear. It is the most expensive route for when addressing this clutch pedal problem, however is said to be well worth the money.
