9.6 Reference Library vs Knowledge Library Explained

In this ReplicAItor Coaching lesson, Greg Jameson breaks down the difference between the Reference Library and the Knowledge Library in the Coach's Dashboard — two systems that sound alike but do very different jobs, and getting them straight changes how well your AI coach performs.

Greg starts with the Reference Library, the first tab. This is content shown to your client as-is during feedback — product links, videos, PDFs, and images that surface based on keywords in their questions or in your AI's responses. He stresses that references are tied to a specific coach, so what you upload has to fit the niche (golf ball spin rate and shampoo don't belong to the same coach). Then he adds one live: a "Foot Stance" reference pointing to a YouTube batting-stance video, with trigger keywords like "foot placement," assigned to the baseball coach so it only fires for the right expert. He clicks Add Reference and it's instantly part of the library.

From there he contrasts it with the Knowledge Library, the second tab. This is your AI coach's training material — documents, text, PDFs, and optionally video and images — that the AI pulls from in the background to inform its feedback. Unlike references, this content isn't shown to users unless you also add it to the Reference Library. Greg's key tip: video files can be huge and slow your whole system down, and most are just talking heads where the visuals add nothing. If that's the case, transcribe the video and put the transcript in your Knowledge Library instead. If you're a coach or admin running the ReplicAItor Coaching System, knowing which library does what is how you keep feedback fast, relevant, and on-brand.
