📚 History:
Sainte-Agnès is a historical medieval village in France. It was founded by a Roman princess who built a chapel after a storm. The village was a defensive site and was fought over by many powers. The castle-fort was destroyed by Louis XIV and a new fort was built by the French army. The fort was used for only 15 days during World War II, but it helped to prevent the Italian army from entering Menton. Sainte-Agnès was attached to France in 1860 when Victor-Emmanuel II, then king of Sardinia, ceded Nice and Savoy. The village is one of the most beautiful in France because of its heritage and location. Sainte-Agnès is a place of beauty, history, and culture.

You can explore the Fort de la Ligne Maginot, a historic underground fortress that was part of France’s defense system during World War II. You can also visit the Chateau Et Jardin Medieval, a charming castle with hidden passages and quaint shops.
