Gunnar sides with the Templars against the Murmurwoods Fey folk and pushes through to the source of the boiling root fire, while Old Pilgrim Ignatius blocks the portals to that source and a fleeing Warlock named Lyssara leaves behind a diary that hints at something hidden in the depths of ice.

Many on the forums call this Burning Hearts Temple route incredibly hard compared to the Grove path. I didn't find it so, just tighter on resources. The Temple starts with not many unit dwellings, so you have to battle the griffins at the colosseums to reinforce your cavalry stacks. Take the second Temple town fast, sell every surplus resource for gold if needed, and steal some herbomancers from the Grove dwellings on the way.

As a secondary quest, run the Preacher's pamphlet quest for Arina's Chosen plus favorable Temple relations. Chase the mysterious Lyssara through the portals for the "It Fills You with Determination" achievement.

If you head toward the Grove castles, the enemy heroes will come to defend them instead of taking yours, so prepare with upgraded units, especially champions and griffins. Take their Faun Captains one by one, then their castles, and block them in place so you can reinforce even further to bring down Old Pilgrim Ignatius for the "Might over Right" achievement.

Also don't forget to grab Summon Starchild from the Stargazer constellation riddle, it's gonna come in handy on the next missions with Lafiur.
