Hemant Soren Case Update: Supreme Court Rejects Interim Bail Plea, For Election Campaign| Capital TV

The Supreme Court on Friday (May 17) refused to consider the petition of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for interim bail for election campaign in the money laundering case. Hemant Soren had sought interim release to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. JMM leader Soren's lawyer Kapil Sibal told the Supreme Court that he will surrender on June 2. On this, ED said that Soren was arrested on January 31. Elections cannot be the basis for release. At the same time, the court refused immediate relief and said that ED should file a written reply by Monday.
