National Trust showcases heritage through Nelson Island Carnival Tour

Nelson Island is a part of the ancestral experience of almost every ethnic group inhabiting Trinidad and Tobago. Nelson Island is one of “Five Islands” located off the north-western peninsula of Trinidad. Approximately 300 participants were present on the National Trust’s Nelson Island Tour on January 26, this one being Carnival themed. Students, tourists, staff members of the Ministry of Planning and Development as well as Planning and Development Minister Camille Robinson-Regis were part of the experience.
The Planning Minister commended The National Trust, who is now under the portfolio of Ministry of Planning and Development for their continued preservation of our heritage and their continuous efforts to enlighten the public about the history of Trinidad and Tobago. The Minister also took note of the high turnout of young people who were present on the tour.
