Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 Review

Lisa Gade reviews the new Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 (9365), a convertible version of the popular XPS 13, this time with 360 degree hinges and active Wacom AES pen support. The Ultrabook looks nearly identical to the standard XPS 13, with a similar 2.7 lb. (1.24 kg) weight. It’s a hair thinner and thus there’s less room for ports, so there are no USB 3.0 type A ports and there’s a microSD card slot rather than the full size SD card slot on the non-convertible model. The notebook has a Thunderbolt 3 port and a USB-C port.

The XPS 13 2-in-1 runs on 4.5 watt (7 watt TDP-up) Intel 7th generation Y series CPUs (the new name for Core M) rather than the 15 watt more powerful CPUs used in the standard XPS 13. It’s available with glossy 1920 x 1080 and 3200 x 1800 Sharp displays, and it has the same aluminum and carbon fiber casing with Gorilla Glass NBT as the original XPS 13. A backlit keyboard, Intel 8265 AC WiFi with Bluetooth, a 720p “chin-cam”, a fingerprint scanner and Windows Hello IR camera are standard.
