The Shofar Story | Part 4 - Church planters

In 1989, Fred and Lucille May started discipling a group of young people in the university town of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Despite the sociopolitical challenges of the time, the group grew, and in 1992 they started calling themselves Shofar.
Thirty years later, Shofar has planted more than sixty churches in seven different countries, sent hundreds of mission teams all over the world and started several organisations that care for the vulnerable in their communities.

This is the story of God’s faithfulness over the last thirty years – how the church started, a glimpse of the early days in the words of those who were there, who we have become as a church family, and where God is leading us. This is the Shofar Story.
