Life is disappointing (Tokyo Story)

After her mother-in-law's funeral, Noriko (Setsuko Hara) tries to console her sister-in-law Kyôko (Kyôko Kagawa), who is highly disappointed with her brothers and sister due to their selfish behaviour.

In this scene we can appreciate the greatness of Setsuko Hara, her deeply sad smile speaks wisely to our hearts to confirm that life is often disappointing.
