The following footage was produced in Bremen during the start of series production in 2021 (Series 206). The sequences are organized according to the value chain.

Press Shop
With the start of production of the C-Class (Series 206), another state-of-the-art board cutting system is working at the Bremen press plant.
It cuts plates from coils with the highest precision. In addition, Mercedes-Benz has introduced one of the most modern servo press lines including an automatic test system: Inline-Inspection-robots automatically control each component and pass them to the next production-step.

Body Shop
In Bremen, a completely new bodyshop was built for the 206 series in which different model and drive variants can be flexibly produced "just-in-sequence". While in a traditional bodyshop the body parts are manufactured in one line, the new body shop consists of different production cells, the so-called "cubes", which can be flexibly combined with each other. Driverless transport systems supply them with parts as required

The following footage show the paintwork, the light studio and the lightweight string robot - an innovation from Bremen.

Assembly Line
In Bremen the C-Class is built on one line together with the GLC, GLC Coupe and the EQC. For the series 206 more than 70 stations have been rebuilt. The footage shows the assembly of powertrains, the newly designed wedding station, the fully automated cockpit installation, the installation of the head-up display and the finish line.

Digitization
Mercedes-Benz uses numerous digital tools in vehicle production. During the start-up phase, employees in Bremen, East London and Beijing were in regular contact via HoloLenses. In addition, Mercedes-Benz Cars Operations 360 (M0360) makes complex vehicle production transparent and efficient. The digital ecosystem comprises a family of software applications connected by common interfaces and unified user interfaces.
