Summer Solstice Creative Ritual: Tending Your Light in the Second Half of Life

In this summer solstice video, I’m inviting you into a simple creative ritual for women 50 and beyond who are longing for more meaning, beauty, and sacred pause in everyday life.

The summer solstice is the longest day of the year, a moment when the light is at its fullest. It is both a celebration of brightness and a turning point in the seasonal wheel. For those of us in the second half of life, it can also become a beautiful invitation to slow down, notice what is quietly growing within us, and ask what needs tending now.

In this video, I share why ritual becomes so meaningful in this stage of life, especially as we release old roles, rhythms, and expectations and begin listening more deeply for what is next. I also guide you through a simple expressive arts activity using a free summer solstice coloring page you can print, color, journal with, and make your own.

This is not about making perfect art. It is about creating a mindful pause, listening to yourself, and turning an ordinary creative moment into a small act of remembering.

You may want to gather:

A printed copy of the coloring page
Colored pencils, markers, crayons, or watercolor paints
A journal or notebook
A candle or small light
A cup of tea
A few natural objects such as flowers, herbs, stones, or leaves

What am I ready to receive?
What gives me energy?
What part of me wants to be seen?
What do I want to celebrate?
What am I grateful for?
What do I want to nourish?
What needs tending now?
What do I want more of this summer?

At the end, choose one word for the center of your sun page. Let it hold the energy of this season for you.
