🙋 THE BEST WAY TO TRAIN ONE-ARM HANGS 🙋 #FingerStrength #ClimbingTraining #LatticeTraining

Coach Jonny (@jonnykydd) shows us how to maximise gains from your one-arm hang sessions.

We want our training to be specific - specificity is a fundamental pillar of training - so if you’re at the level where you can train one-arm hangs, you may benefit from introducing these two positions into your arm-arm hang training.

🔀 When we climb, we don’t hold every hold in the same position.
🟦 If you find you are struggling with moves in a square on position, then hanging in a square on position, facing the wall, will help increase the familiarity of applying your finger strength when your shoulder is in this position. This will generally be beneficial for climbs that are gently overhung and require you to keep your body close to the wall.
🔄 If you are working on steeper climbs where your body can hang further away from the wall, or on climbs where you have to do more cross over moves and rotate around your shoulder, then training with your body rotated 90 degrees will help create the strength for these movements.
