Is the Clock Broken or Not?

Correction: Twice I said "self starting clock" when I really meant to
say "spin start clock". Once again my mouth and brain were not
in sync. Some "self starting" clocks were manufactured in the late
1920's by the Warren Telecron company but many examples of
"spin start" clocks could be found into the early years of the Great
