The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake was so powerful it rang the entire planet like a bell, shortened the length of a day by 2.68 microseconds, and moved the North Pole by about an inch.
It released energy equivalent to 23,000 Hiroshima bombs and killed over 227,000 people across 14 countries.
Seismologists studying the data afterward identified at least six other fault lines around the world under the same pressure. None of them have released yet.
