Jesus and the Adulteress

This video explores the story of Jesus and the woman caught in adultery in John 8:2-11. Christians always assume this story demonstrates Jesus' wisdom and mercy, showing that morality is more than just blunt legalism. But his replies to the Pharisees and to the woman are inadequate even by the standards of basic common sense - and in demonstrating this, I show how the gospels work as propaganda pieces relying on cheap storytelling conventions.
