This short 7-minute film -- written by Matthew Harris and produced by Dorothy Kyle and Ivan Barge -- tackles a subject no less than the passage of time and the fullness of human experience, with a keen sense of poetic humanity.

Director Ivan Barge's short is essentially a meditative, moving montage of one woman's life, as told through her relationship with her husband and her experience of time through the years. As she passes through the events of her life, her family grows and changes, and her own understanding of life and self deepens, though her sense of wonder at all of it never alters.

With a compact run-time, every creative element of SNOOZE TIME works together to evoke a sense of vast swaths of time passing through the prism of this single family.

The camerawork and visuals are both gentle yet constantly in motion, carrying the audience through stills, shots and montages. Even the props and costumes are painstakingly specific, down to the stickers and toys that the children play with as they grow up and get older.

Beautifully realized, intimate and yet sweeping in scope and ambition, the film illuminates how time creates meaning in human experience, as the invisible container of our stories -- and just how beautiful our everyday experiences become when looked at through this powerful lens.
