Pouring A Rubber Blanket 1-Piece Cut Mold.
In this video I am making a rubber blanket mold but not by brushing on layers of rubber as usual. Instead, the rubber blanket will be poured into fiberglass shell that will be both a case and a container for the rubber.
I've never done a mold like this on the channel before. Previous blanket molds were always made by brushing on layers of rubber over the model. The problem with that method is that you almost always trap air bubbles in the blanket and in this case the resin edition will be cast inside of a pressure pot. And you can't have any bubbles in the blanket mold if the resin is going to be pressure cast.
That means we have to first create a fiberglass shell that will contain the liquid rubber while we pour it. So I'll be modeling a blanket of clay to form the fiberglass over.
