This price ladder trading session with Richard looks at an absorption reversal in the Bund, squeezing out traders selling short at the lows. The trade sets up with a pre-cash morning move higher, followed by an initiative sell straight off the cash open.

Richard explains how 71 became a key level for a break and move lower to 66, and a continuation further to 34. However, instead of continuing to sell, we see an order flow pattern that has repeated over the past few days where buyers step in and absorb at the lows.

Although the selling came in heavy through the break of 71 and saw the market trade 1000 lots into the low, the selling suddenly disappears. As it the market bids back up, no fresh sellers are willing to initiate lower, and when traders finally try sell the bounce, the offer only holds for a moment and continues to go back bid. This causes short sellers to start covering, which adds to the buying that finally comes in, making for a great absorption-reversal trade.
