The Art of Live Sketching || Sketch Walk at Banaras Ghats with Dilip Chaubey

On the final day of the 3-day Masterclass at BHU, we embarked on an inspiring Sketch Walk at the historic Banaras Ghats. Students explored gesture drawing, live sketching, and portrait-making, capturing the energy and essence of the people and surroundings. This experience allowed them to apply quick sketching techniques, interact with visitors, and embrace the art of storytelling through lines and forms.

Special thanks to Mr. Manish Arora (Applied Arts Head, Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU) and Mr. Suresh K. Nair (Teacher, Department of Painting, Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU) for making this event more engaging and meaningful. ABOUT DILIP CHAUBEY:

Mr. Dilip K Chaubey, a Gold Medalist from BHU ‘91 with over 30 years of experience in illustration and teaching, is a pioneer in India’s comic industry. He is the Dean and Founder of Dilip Chaubey School of Art & VINMICS Studios and has previously served as a Senior Professor in Digital Arts at an American University. Mr. Chaubey's illustrious career also includes being a former illustrator at Raj Comics, where he created iconic characters like Tiranga, Parmanu, and Fighter Toads in the 90s. With over 300 comics under his belt at Raj Comics, and 14 years teaching internationally, Mr. Chaubey's expertise is widely recognized. He is revered for his contributions to the Indian Comics Community with his illustrations and knowledge.
