If someone gave you $40 to purchase an outfit, what would you buy? Would you search for discounts or bargains? Would you “splurge” on one item by cutting back on other things?

These are just a few of the questions we faced during a budgeting challenge from BECU’s Next Big Talk guide. We were given $40 each to select and purchase outfits for one another at a local thrift shop, and had to stick to our budget – using ice cream as our reward!

While Andrew’s outfit ended up being a tad more expensive, it sported essentials fit for a true Seattleite. Kelly’s attire, on the other hand, seemed a bit more… frivolous? Extravagant? We’ll let you decide.
